Congress Fees and AFS Membership

To participate in the congress, you must: 

• Register on this website
• Pay the congress registration fee to the AFS bank account before May 1, 2026
• Become a member of the AFS for the year 2026

AFS 2026 Congress Fees 

• Early-career researchers (PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers) and precarious researchers: €35
• Tenured researchers and faculty members: €100

 Participation in the congress requires that your membership in the Association Française de Sémiotique (AFS) be up to date for the year 2026.

Two types of membership are available: collective and individual.

 Collective membership, open to French and international research teams, offers a preferential rate. This team registration allows the AFS to identify active semiotics research teams worldwide and to promote their visibility on this website. To benefit from this option, the director of the research team must send a formal request for collective registration. Researchers declared under a collective membership may still choose to join the AFS individually if they wish.

 Annual membership runs for one full year from the anniversary date of registration (one full year), and not according to the calendar year in progress.

 Individual Membership

• Annual individual membership for tenured members (full professors, associate professors, faculty members, researchers in permanent positions): €50 per person
• Annual individual membership for early-career researchers: €20 per person

 Research Team Membership

• Annual team membership for tenured members (full professors, associate professors, faculty members, researchers in permanent positions): €30 per person
• Annual team membership for early-career researchers (students, PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, PhD holders, adjunct lecturers): €15 per person
